Ester gums have good compatibility and ready solubility with low and high bodied stand oils. Imparts quick drying, water and alkali resistance. Equivalent performances as that of glycerol esters of modified phenolic resins. Used immensely in Aluminium paint medium, PVC tiles and as a tackifier in rubber-based adhesives.
Solubility :
- Soluble in toluene, xylene, LSN, HSN, MTO, Acetate esters, ketones, dipentine, pine oil, aromax, butanol and cellosolve.
- Insoluble in industrial methylated spirit.
Compatibility :
Compatible with long, medium and short oil length alkyds and dibutyl phthalate, tricresyl phosphate and castor oil.
Applications :
For manufacturing aluminium media, varnishes for primers and undercoats and rubber adhesives.
